The pines on Hvar grow so close to the shore that their shade reaches the sea. The inside of this small bowl is full of fine turquoise-green pine branches, with needles drawn in delicate lines that spread from the rim towards the centre, while the outside stays simple and cream. It carries the same motif as my Pine oil bottle, and it is just the right size for a handful of olives, salted almonds or a spoonful of dip.

I make it from stoneware on the potter's wheel and decorate it in the sgraffito technique: I carve the coloured clay by hand so that every needle appears. Finally I glaze it with a clear, food-safe glaze.

FAQ

Are all pieces dishwasher safe?

Yes, they are. Use the eco programme at lower temperatures. I still recommend hand washing now and then, to give your favourite piece some extra care.

Are all pieces microwave safe?

I don't recommend it.

Shipping within Croatia is 5 €; to the EU (except Cyprus and Malta) 11–38 € depending on the country, shown at checkout. Orders usually ship within 1–4 business days. Are your ceramics durable?

Yes. They are made from high-quality stoneware clay and fired at 1230 °C, which makes them hard and durable.
