Olive oil bottle

Olive trees grow in almost every garden on Hvar, and this bottle carries one of their branches. Across the cream upper part of the bottle I have carved slender olive leaves in warm olive-green lines, a few tiny green olives hide between them, and the base is coloured blue, like the sea you can see from almost every olive grove. This is a bottle for your extra virgin olive oil, to stand on your table every day. For serving olives, the Olive serving bowl goes beautifully with it.

I make every bottle from stoneware on the potter's wheel and decorate it in the sgraffito technique: I carve the motif by hand through a layer of coloured clay. Finally I glaze it with a transparent, food-safe glaze, so it is ready for everyday use.
